Pupil Parliament

Sir Martin Frobisher Academy

At Sir Martin Frobisher Academy, we believe that every child’s voice matters. Our Pupil Parliament is a key part of school life, giving pupils the opportunity to share ideas, influence decisions, and help shape the future of our academy.

What is the Pupil Parliament?

The Pupil Parliament is a group of elected pupil representatives from across the school who work together to make positive changes. It acts as a platform where pupils can:

  • Express their opinions
  • Represent the views of their classmates
  • Contribute to school improvement
  • Develop leadership and teamwork skills

Our Vision

Our Pupil Parliament aims to:

  • Promote a strong sense of community and belonging
  • Encourage responsibility and leadership
  • Ensure every pupil feels heard and valued
  • Make our school an even better place to learn and grow

How It Works

Each class elects representatives who form part of the Pupil Parliament. These pupils:

  • Attend regular meetings
  • Gather ideas and feedback from their class
  • Discuss important school issues
  • Work together to plan initiatives and events

Members are supported by staff, but the ideas and decisions are led by the pupils themselves.

What We Do

The Pupil Parliament is involved in a wide range of activities, including:

  • Suggesting improvements to the school environment
  • Organizing events and themed days
  • Supporting fundraising and charity work
  • Promoting well-being and positive behaviour
  • Working on Eco-friendly initiatives

Why It Matters

Being part of the Pupil Parliament helps children to:

  • Develop confidence in speaking and listening
  • Understand democracy and decision-making
  • Learn how to work as part of a team
  • Take pride in their school community

Most importantly, it ensures that pupils know their opinions are valued and can make a real difference.

Our Impact

Through the Pupil Parliament, pupils at Sir Martin Frobisher Academy have already helped to:

  • Improve playtime experiences
  • Introduce new ideas for rewards and celebrations
  • Strengthen the sense of community across the school

Get Involved

Every pupil has the chance to be involved by:

  • Sharing ideas with their class representatives
  • Taking part in initiatives led by the Pupil Parliament

Together, we are building a school where everyone’s voice counts.
