Art & Design Curriculum at Sir Martin Frobisher Academy
Inspiring Creativity and Expression
At Sir Martin Frobisher Academy, we believe that Art & Design plays a vital role in developing creativity, confidence, and self-expression. Our aim is to inspire pupils to explore their ideas, experiment with a range of materials, and develop their artistic skills.
We provide a rich and engaging curriculum that encourages children to express themselves and take pride in their creative achievements.
Our Approach to Art & Design
We follow the Kapow Primary Art & Design scheme to support high-quality teaching and learning across the school. This ensures clear progression of skills and knowledge from Early Years through to Year 6.
Through this approach, pupils:
- Develop a range of artistic techniques and skills
- Explore different materials and media
- Learn about famous artists and designers
- Reflect on and evaluate their own work
- Build confidence in expressing their ideas
Lessons are practical, creative, and designed to inspire imagination.
